Easter 013

It is quite amazing to me how humans are so adaptably able to create community within community. Even though we live on another continent amidst a markedly different culture where holidays are often celebrated in Paraguay’s own distinct manner, our group of gringos fostered an Easter afternoon very authentically American.

Someone found white eggs that would actually hold the colored dye. Someone else shipped in Peeps and Jelly Beans. And all together we forged a meal of typical American dishes employing ingredients both located here in Paraguay as well as imported from more far-off lands.Pretty amazing.

Cheers to creating a bit of home away from home!
