OANSA: Soak City

December 12, 2011

This past Saturday, we wrapped up our OANSA program for the year with a whole morning of water warfare. We set up hideouts and makeshift fortresses in the church courtyard, and lugged in tubs and tubs of juicy water balloons. You can bet that with the blazing high-90s heat (at 9 in the morning, no less), the kids were especially thrilled with opportunities to drench and be drenched.

The maze of shields and barriers.

Paraguayan monkey bars.

Water balloon toss.

Then we made them catch the balloons with their mouths.

I think I’ve got a new favorite spectator sport.

A deceivingly sweet and innocent face.

Commence the war!

Battle worn and waiting for Christmas presents.
